TA DA!!! I can't tell you how proud I am of this piece!
Hand carved aside from the posy center which came from an estate treasure - it is part of a Victorian door plate! Whoo boy, it involved a lot of sawing and filing and alteration, but I think the final product is beautiful. By the end, though, I really wish I had just carved the flower myself - it's not outside of my ability and would have been MUCH more time affective.
This piece was inspired by a friend and rockabilly talent, Miss Black Betty, lead singer of the Boston based band Black Betty and The Bad Habits. [link]
The piece also includes vintage black lucite from the 50's
I can't wait to take photos on a model; it looks even better.
